Bourton burglary alert and appeal for information

We are appealing for information and increased vigilance from residents of Bourton-on-the-Water after receiving reports that four homes in the village have been burgled this morning. The four offences are believed to have occurred between 11am and 2pm and involved an offender or offenders breaking in by smashing glazed doors or windows at the rear of the attacked homes.

Details of what has been stolen are still being collated but, at this time, include items of jewellery. One or more owner reports that no items are believed to have been stolen.

The four attacked homes are located on Rissington Rd, Green Lake Close, Letch Lane and Rectory Lane.

We would like to hear from residents who may have witnessed anything suspicious in Bourton today. Please contact us via our website using this link - How to tell us about an existing case or report | Gloucestershire Constabulary. Please quote incident number 228 of 14/5/24.

We are particularly interested to hear from people who may have used the public footpaths in the village and seen suspicious activity. In particular those paths between Rissington Road and Cemetary Lane, the path from Moore Road to School Hill and the footpath from Lansdown to the fields at the rear of the Cotswold School.

Thank you for your help.

Sgt Garrett Gloyn
