Appeal for CCTV after suspected stabbing in Cromwell Street


A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing in Gloucester in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 24 December).

The incident happened inside an address in Cromwell Street at around 1.40am and police are appealing for information.

Emergency services attended and a man, aged in his 40s, sustained several wounds and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. He remains there for treatment.

A man in his 20s from the Forest of Dean was arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder and he remains in custody for questioning.

Police are in the early stages of an investigation, and at this time it is believed that two other men, who were described as being white, were involved in the attack.

Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who lives in the surrounding area who has CCTV or doorbell footage which shows any men in the area either before or after the incident.

Those with cameras are asked to review their footage between the times of 1.25am and 3.10am.

Forensic enquiries have been taking place at the scene overnight and today there will be a visible police presence while searches continue to take place.
