Theft in Lechlade - witness appeal

Overnight 31st March into 1st April an excavator was stolen from behind the pavilion at Lechlade cricket club on Faringdon Road, Lechlade. The offence is believed to have taken place between 10pm on Monday night and 9am on Tuesday and is likely to have necessitated the thieves towing a trailer onto the cricket ground before loading the 1.5 tonne excavator onto it.

If you saw this activity of a trailer, laden or unladen, in the town at the relevant times then we'd like to hear from you. Lechlade has some good CCTV cameras in the town centre and, if we can narrow down the time of the sighting, we may be able to obtain a registration number for the thieves vehicle.

If you have any further information about this incident, we’d like to hear from you. Please complete the following online form quoting incident 123 of 1st April 2025https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/

Thank you for your support.
