Update following incident in Nailsworth on Friday 6 June


A man has been charged in connection with multiple assaults and criminal damage following an incident in Nailsworth last week.

 

Kyrece Hall, aged 23 and of no fixed abode, has been charged with four counts of common assault, one count of criminal damage and one count of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duties.

 

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court today, Monday 9 June.

 

The charges relate to a number of incidents which took place on Old Market at around 4.30pm on Friday 6 June where it was reported that multiple members of the public had been assaulted and a shop window had been smashed.

 

Stroud Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Simon Ellson said: “We are dedicated to ensuring Nailsworth remains a safe and enjoyable place to live and work and we will always take decisive action against those who seek to threaten that.

 

“Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team are patrolling the area for reassurance and our Community Engagement Vehicle will be in the town on Thursday (9 June). I would encourage anyone with any concerns or questions to speak to our officers and they will be happy to assist in any way they can.”
