Speed Checks Yesterday in Nailsworth - Bath Rd & Nympsfield Rd, NAILSWORTH

PCSO's conducted speed checks in two areas in NAILSWORTH yesterday evening and the results were as follows:

  • On Nympsfield Rd, out of approximately 55 vehicles around 6 vehicles were over the speed limit of 30mph between 31-35mph. We also had a vehicle that didn't notice us, and was over the speed limit at 50mph.

  • On Bath Rd, out of approximately 55 vehicles around 3 vehicles were over the speed limit of 20mph between 25-30mph.
  • Number plates were taken of the above offenders for further action.  Speed limits are set for a reason and exceeding them is illegal.

There is an option to set up a Community Speedwatch group in your area. Community Speedwatch (CSW) is a national initiative where, in partnership with the police, members of communities use detection devices to monitor local vehicle speeds. The volunteers report drivers exceeding the speed limit to the police with the aim of educating drivers to slow down. Further information can be found here: Community Speedwatch | Gloucestershire Constabulary
