Appeal after woman spat at by man on an E-scooter in Cheltenham

Police are appealing for information after a woman was spat at by a man on an E-scooter last month.

The incident happened on 17 May when the victim, aged in her 50s, was driving along Lambert Gardens in Shurdington.

Two men, and possibly also a woman, were on E-scooters travelling on the road towards her, and when she told them it was illegal for them to be doing this, one of the men reached into the woman's car and turned the engine off.

He then made threats towards her, tried to open the car door and spat at her. When she called police the group left in the direction of Yarnolds and the shops.

The victim was physically unharmed but upset by the ordeal.

The man was described as being Asian, aged around 25, approximately 5ft 10ins in height and of a stocky build. He was wearing a bright red padded jacket with a hood, jeans and was riding a black E-scooter.

Several enquiries have taken place, including house to house and reviewing CCTV, however investigating officers are now keen to hear from anyone else who has not spoken to them.

Information about the assault can be provided to police online by completing the following form and quoting incident 406 of 17 May: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
