Chalford Sports and Social Club ASB awareness

We're appealing for information following concern from the Chalford Sports and Social Club on Highfield Way regarding an increase of youths using the shed at the back of the field. It has been said to police that incidents of criminal damage, arson and ASB have occurred on various nights.

The youths are male, under the age of 18 years old and are accessing the field via the footpath as to avoid the CCTV attached to the club building. It was reported that one for the youths had an ambulance called for them due to behaving unsafely at the site.

The Chalford Sports and Social Club are working alongside the police to help and deter this behaviour, however parents are still responsible for their children under the age of 18 years old. 

Police are going to be patrolling the area regularly and will request details of the youths should they be found on the private land causing ASB or other offences. Parents will be contacted as well. 

Please ensure that if you have teenage children that you know their whereabouts and activities. We understand it is the summer holidays and groups of friends will meet up, but they can still be respectful and well behaved of facilities within their local community. 

We are encouraging any local residents, land owners or club members to report incidents of ASB, damage and arson to the police to help combat this issue. If the police are not informed via incidents, we do not always know what is going on and therefore cannot support.
